BIOGRAPHY

Brenda Dickhoner is President and CEO of Ready Colorado, where she leads efforts to expand educational opportunity through school choice, innovation, and strong public policy. A respected voice on education reform, her work focuses on empowering families and strengthening the connection between education and economic opportunity.

Brenda previously served at the Colorado Department of Education, where she helped develop strategies to support the state's lowest-performing schools and districts. She also worked on higher education policy at the Colorado Department of Higher Education and advised state lawmakers nationwide at the National Conference of State Legislatures. As the Mike A. Leprino Free Enterprise Fellow at the Common Sense Institute, she conducted research on the economic impact of education policy, highlighting the connection between educational attainment and workforce development.

Brenda has authored numerous policy reports, research publications, and opinion pieces on school choice and education reform and is a frequent speaker at national education conferences and policy convenings. She has served on several nonprofit boards focused on expanding educational opportunity and currently serves as Chair of the Board of the Colorado Charter School Institute. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs and a B.A. in Political Science from Duke University.
