BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Harlem, Duanecia Evans Clark is the Founder and Chief Brand Strategist of the Creative Summer Company, a creative services agency equipping mission-consistent, Black-owned brands, and businesses with strategy-informed visual and digital identity. In addition to this, she is a 2020 Pahara Institute NextGen fellow, a fellowship designed to cultivate and strengthen the leadership of underrepresented leaders who are making significant contributions to the field of education. Duanecia holds a master's degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University. Throughout her career in public education, Duanecia has ensured the recruitment and retention of Black educators and has forged partnerships between Teach For America and national organizations, including United Negro College Fund, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the National Women's Law Center. This work has afforded educators the opportunity to be trained and advocate for equitable school discipline practices and end the inequitable push out of girls of color in our nation's schools.
In 2019, Duanecia secured and stewarded a $10 million grant and launched TFA's Black Educators Promise – a national grant initiative designed to grow the number of Black educators by decreasing financial barriers to entry and providing supports that incentivize and empower Black teacher retention. Duanecia is a visionary leader who designs people-centered social impact strategies for national and local brands.
