BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Rose is deputy chancellor of operations at the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE). She oversees the following offices: Division of School Facilities; Division of Non Public Schools; Office of Safety and Youth Development, including Safety & Security and Guidance & Counseling; Office of School Health; Office of School Support Services, including SchoolFood, the Office of Pupil Transportation, and PSAL; Space Management Group; School Construction Authority; and Educational Construction Fund.

Elizabeth joined the NYCDOE in 2009. Prior to her current position, she served as chief of staff in the Division of Operations from 2012 until January, 2015. She also served as chief of staff in the DOE’s Office of Public Affairs and director of Manhattan Planning.

Elizabeth joined the NYCDOE following a 20-year private-sector career in strategic planning and operations in the media industry. Her private-sector positions include chief digital officer of Vault.com; senior vice president of strategy for Travelzoo; and vice president, strategic planning and e-commerce at BMG Direct. Elizabeth holds a BA from Rice University, and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
