BIOGRAPHY
Sid Smith is a founding partner of non sibi ventures, a newly launched black and women led early stage venture fund investing primarily in startups led by underrepresented founders offering technologies that have a positive impact on citizens, communities, culture or the environment.
He is also the founder and President of SRS Counsel PLLC, a solo law practice that provides virtual general counsel services on a range of corporate and transactional matters. His legal career spans 30 years and includes Am Law 100 law firm and in-house experience.
Sid is active in many organizations dedicated to service in the areas of education and economic development. He is a Pahara Institute fellow and former board member. Sid also serves as vice board chair of Alder Graduate School of Education. Since 2015, Sid has served as an assistant girls varsity basketball coach at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD.
Sid graduated from Yale with a B.A. in English, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team, and he received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is also a graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover.
