Steven (Steve) Morris has worked as a teacher and administrator in independent schools for the past 28 years. He most recently served as the Interim Executive Director at The Little School. He launched his new career as an Executive Search Consultant for independent schools with the firm RG175. He also became certified through the Haas School of Business as an Executive Coach. Steve served for 15 years as the head of the San Francisco School (SFS). Prior to his work at SFS, Steve was the dean of multicultural programs at University High School in San Francisco where he also taught English, coached soccer, and much more. His career in education began at Sewickley Academy, where Steve taught and was the co-executive director of Summerbridge Pittsburgh. Beyond the campus, Steven has presented at conferences across the country on subjects ranging from school culture to faculty development and diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice/antiracism education. Most recently, Steven co-created a year-long series of workshops for Aspiring Leaders of Color, participated in the National Association of Independent Schools Deep Dive Summit, which focused on matters of equity and social justice and attended the Klingenstein Fellowship for Heads of School. Steve has served as a trustee on numerous school and non-profit boards. He recently completed his term as the board chair/member of the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) Steven and his wife have three children. He holds a Master of Arts degree in education from Stanford University. He earned his bachelor's degree in English at the College of Wooster.
