BIOGRAPHY

Susan Patrick is a senior principal education researcher at SRI. Susan Patrick provides expertise and advisement for advancing policy and transforming education in the United States. Susan Patrick has more than 25 years of experience working with federal and state policy makers in partnership with the field of education in developing policies supporting education systems changes across P-20, identifying innovations and technology breakthroughs, publishing research, and advancing best practices. Susan Patrick served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Association for K-12 Online Learning, Aurora Institute and co-founder of CompetencyWorks. Susan Patrick is the former Director of the Office of Educational Technology at the U.S. Department of Education. Prior, Patrick worked for Governor Hull in Arizona as legislative liaison on technology policy. She was a Site Director for Old Dominion University’s TELETECHNET distance learning program. She worked as legislative assistant for Congressman Gibbons in the U.S. House of Representatives. She has worked directly as a technical expert with the White House, U.S. Congress, and more than 40 states, working with numerous state governors, legislatures, state education departments, state boards of education, think tanks, and intermediary organizations.
