City Year Columbus
Tasha Booker serves as the executive director for City Year - Columbus where she develops and leads their annual and long-term strategies and priorities for school and community impact, operations, and finance. City Year partners with public schools to help students graduate from high school ready for college, career, and a productive life.
Tasha has two decades of nonprofit and K-12 education experience. Prior to leading City Year - Columbus, she served as the director of development and public relations for I Know I Can, a college access organization, where she oversaw all fundraising activities to realize an annual budget of $4 million and the allocation of $1.2 million in grants and scholarships. She has held leadership roles for United Way of Central Ohio, The Boy Scouts of America, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Tasha serves as a volunteer for WELD OH, the YWCA, as a member of the board of directors for First Night Columbus and the YMCA Jerry L. Garver branch. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., founding member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Central Ohio Chapter, and is a Cycle 6 African American Leadership Academy fellow. She was recognized in Business First’s 2014 class of Forty under 40, and their class of 2017 Smart Business Executive Directors of the Year. In 2018, she received an Honorary Doctorate in Community Leadership from Franklin University
Tasha holds a Masters of Education and Teaching licensure from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and is the proud mother of one son, Logan, and a poodle named Skittles.
