EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF GROWTH & OPERATIONS
THE ROLE
The Executive Vice President of Growth & Operations serves on Pahara's executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President. This strategic role leads efforts to grow Pahara's impact, diversify revenue streams through earned revenue models and strategic philanthropy, and oversee all operational functions essential to organizational success. The EVP drives expansion through comprehensive business development initiatives while providing executive oversight of finance, IT infrastructure, data & learning, and communications. This position ensures Pahara can scale its reach and impact with quality and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Area 1: Strategic Growth

Collaborate with the President and executive team to establish revenue and impact growth goals

Develop and implement growth strategies that support Pahara's medium- and long-term objectives for impact and sustainability

Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, needs, and opportunities in the education leadership space in partnership with the EVP of Network Effect

Design and execute a robust pricing strategy for all-inclusive programs that balances accessibility with financial sustainability

Partner with the President to develop a strategy and resource development plan for expanding the footprint of the Lone Rock campus

Area 2: Business Development & Partnerships

Design and implement replicable cost-share and other revenue models that increase program reach and efficiency in partnership with the EVP of Network Effect

Identify, cultivate, and secure strategic partnerships with a range of organizations to expand Pahara's revenue and impact
-
Develop strong systems to manage philanthropic pipeline from prospect identification through closing (CRM, proposal and collateral development, etc)

Lead partnership negotiations and oversee execution of formal agreements

Evaluate potential acquisitions, partnerships, or collaborations that could accelerate growth

Area 3: Cross-Organizational Leadership

Support the President in strategic planning and organizational development

Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team

Establish finance, operations, IT, data & learning, and communications as a best-in-class Shared Services function

Partner with other EVPs to ensure integrated approaches across Pahara
-
Represent operations, finance, data, and technology perspectives and needs in organizational decision-making

Lead cross-functional initiatives that require operational expertise

Area 4: Finance & Operations

Provide strategic oversight of financial planning, budgeting, and accounting functions
-
Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and reporting systems

Lead organizational operations, including vendor management and contract negotiations

Oversee risk management, compliance, and insurance programs
-
Lead resource allocation decisions to maximize organizational effectiveness

Area 5: Technology & Infrastructure

Oversee IT strategy, systems architecture, and technology infrastructure

Secure and oversee IT helpdesk and technical support functions
-
Ensure technology solutions support organizational needs and objectives

Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

Establish systems that enable organizational growth and scaling

Area 6: Data & Learning

Oversee the organization's data and analytics capabilities

Establish metrics to assess program impact and organizational performance

Ensure data collection, analysis, and reporting informs strategic decision-making

Develop learning systems to capture and apply insights across the organization

Oversee data privacy compliance and ethical use of information

Area 7: Communications

Develop and oversee the implementation of an effective marketing and communications strategy

Enhance Pahara's brand presence and positioning in the education sector

Direct external communications to effectively articulate Pahara's value proposition to stakeholders

Oversee digital strategy, content creation, and media relations

Ensure marketing efforts effectively support fundraising and program promotion

Area 8: Team Leadership

Directly supervise the SVP of Finance, VP of Operations, VP of Data & Learning, and Assoc Director of Communications

Build and develop a high-performing team with complementary skills and expertise
-
Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback
-
Foster a collaborative culture aligned with Pahara's values and mission
-
Ensure effective communication and alignment across operations functions
-
Complete other duties at the discretion of your manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct supervision of senior leaders in finance, operations, data, and communications

Indirect supervision of all growth and operations staff

Responsibility for building and maintaining a high-performing team to support organizational growth and sustainability

Strategic oversight of external vendors and consultants in operational areas
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
-
Advanced degree in Business, Law, Education, or Public Policy strongly preferred
-
Minimum 10 years of increasing leadership responsibility, with at least 5 years in a senior strategic role

Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
-
Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships and business development

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful growth strategies

Experience overseeing finance, operations, data analytics, and technology functions

Strong business acumen and financial literacy

Experience with market research methodologies and data-driven decision-making

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders

Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate complex organizational challenges

Experience in education, leadership development, or nonprofit sectors strongly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
We are a virtual organization by design so that our team can work where they have built their lives. Lone Rock, our campus in the Denver area, serves as a hub for our work and as the main location for all in-person events.

TRAVEL
This position will require regular travel to Lone Rock Campus for leadership meetings and events, and to other locations for strategic partnership development and business meetings. When at Lone Rock, you must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time at a higher altitude while on campus and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 30 pounds for various needs. Seminar days often begin early and end late, so you should be able to commit to an unconventional schedule when participating in programming, as opposed to a 9am - 5pm schedule.

COMPENSATION
Pahara provides competitive compensation and an attractive benefits package, including full health care coverage and access to a 401(k) account with a matching contribution policy. The salary for this role is within the salary band for Executive Vice Presidents at Pahara.
