2022
MODERATOR SELECTION
OVERVIEW
As a Pahara Fellow you know the impact of Pahara programming and the critical role moderators play in bringing the Pahara experience to life. Whether through employing time-tested methods of socratic dialogue, supporting group connection to each other and to nature, or integrating intellectual and somatic experiencing, moderators help create and sustain a container where transformation can occur.
As we continue to build a moderator corp that mirrors the cohorts we select and is inclusive of perspectives and experiences that span multiple domains of difference, we are excited to offer you an opportunity to explore this role with us!
SELECTION CRITERIA
Our goal is to identify and select members of the Pahara community who:
-
hold deep experience leading and holding transformative dialogue for a range of audiences, including critical conversations about leadership, identity, and the ways race intersects with other societal inequities;
-
bring maturity and skill in leading dialog with c-level leaders, pushing conversations below the surface, and holding leaders accountable to norms of engagement;
-
nurture relationships easily and hold the grace necessary to foster environments of inclusion, trust, and courage;
-
are oriented towards deep listening and inviting different points of view while remaining impartial, open, and unbiased;
-
bring lived experiences similar to communities not served well by our current public education system;
-
are excited to lead conversations with leaders across the political spectrum;
-
have fully completed all seminars of their Pahara Fellowship experience; and
-
are eager to be coached in the art of moderating.
We welcome all who meet this criteria to express interest. We are committed to including voices currently underrepresented in our moderator corps: people of the global majority, LGBTQIA+, gender non-conforming, and conservative leaders.
