PAHARA  |  CAREERS

COORDINATOR, SELECTION AND MODERATION

OVERVIEW

The Pahara Institute’s mission is to strengthen and sustain values-driven leaders who are transforming public education so that every child is prepared to lead a free and fulfilling life. We support exceptional, innovative leaders in the non-profit schools sector who are committed to equity and access to excellent public schools for our children. We focus on a diverse set of leaders, with a specific priority on representation and inclusion of leaders who share life experiences with our most marginalized and underserved student populations. Our work is guided by the following core values:

  • Wholeness: We bring our whole selves. We are authentic and vulnerable.

  • Transformative Love: We create belonging. We build inclusive and deeply connected communities across many lines of difference.

  • Excellence: We deliver exceptional quality without compromising our integrity or humanity.

  • Continuous Learning: We learn, grow, adapt, and change. We get better.

  • Liberation: We find new ways to ensure that everyone can live a free and meaningful life.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Provide tactical and administrative support to the Selection and Moderation Team, ensuring that a broad range of Selection and Moderation processes, initiatives, goals, and tasks are completed effectively and in line with Pahara’s organizational values.

  • Collaborate with other departments on the execution of racial equity-centered selection processes for Pahara’s programs from nomination/application to induction, ensuring strong communication, streamlined systems, and coherence across teams.

Sample goals for this role:

The Coordinator, Selection and Moderation will support the selection of outstanding, values-driven leaders who are transforming education. They will also support candidate progression tracking, reporting, and communications; monitor for continuous process improvement; and make sure the team is meeting defined milestones. Here are three examples of how we’ll measure your success:

  • By December 2023, the Coordinator, Selection and Moderation has refined our candidate tracking systems, and 100% of the Selection and Moderation Team is implementing them effectively and efficiently.

  • By Spring 2024, candidates’ satisfaction ratings on “frequency of communication” have improved by at least 50%.

  • By Spring 2024, the Coordinator, Selection and Moderation has developed an effective operating plan for selection scheduling.

What your week might look like:

  • Mostly: Supporting a world-class selection process by facilitating thoughtful stewardship of candidates and coordinating schedules and communications

  • Some: Communicating with inspiring leaders to set them up for success as they connect with Pahara

  • A little: Designing conversations and supporting conversation follow-ups to maintain a healthy flow of engagement for the Pahara Network

  • With (more than) a sprinkling of: Laughter with an amazing team of humans
