Chief Executive Officer

RePublic Schools

Ashley Davis Gallimore is Chief Executive Officer of RePublic Schools, a network of seven charter schools serving over 3,100 scholars in Jackson, MS and Nashville, TN. In her role, Ashley drives organizational change to advance RePublic’s mission of leading and supporting public schools anchored in love, achievement, and antiracism. As the first black person on RePublic's senior leadership team, Ashley committed early on to lead RePublic's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion increasing the percent of educators and leaders of color across the network from 36% to 76% and improving staff retention from 41% to 82% between 2017 and 2022. In 2021, Ashley helped spearhead RePublic’s strategic planning process as they adopted a new vision and mission and developed a three-year strategic plan to take RePublic into its next phase of work to improve scholar school experience and academic outcomes.

Prior to joining RePublic, Ashley started her career in education as a middle school history teacher and then a talent manager with TFA Nashville and TNTP supporting districts and charter schools across the country in building talent pipelines to ensure that all scholars have the best teachers and leaders at school. Ashley chooses to do this work because she knows what it feels like to be overlooked and underestimated as a scholar in school and believes that every child deserves champions who believe in their brilliance and who will support them to achieve whatever they want for their lives. In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and daughter, Sammy, as well as dabbling in interior design.
