BIOGRAPHY
Carolyne Quintana is a visionary education leader and consultant with over two decades of experience transforming educational systems to create equitable, inclusive, and high-quality learning experiences for all students. As the former Deputy Chancellor of Teaching and Learning for NYC Public Schools, Carolyne spearheaded initiatives such as NYC Reads, the revitalization of bilingual education, and the creation of the K-12 AI Policy Lab. Her leadership expanded access to specialized autism spectrum programs and launched the National Math Improvement Project, demonstrating her commitment to fostering deeper learning and student agency.
Carolyne has held diverse roles across education, from teacher and literacy coach to principal mentor and executive superintendent. She led the Affinity District, supporting 164 innovative schools in NYC, and later guided the Carnegie-funded SEAD initiative to integrate social-emotional and academic development across U.S. school districts.
Carolyne’s work is grounded in her values: strengthening communities, investing in adult development, and ensuring students are prepared for life beyond high school. She holds degrees from the University of Texas, The New School, and Bank Street College of Education. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her family, reading on the porch with her husband, and supporting her two spirited teenagers.
