BIOGRAPHY

Jennifer Hines is the co-founder of Accelerate Education, which provides coaching and transformational leadership development for charter leaders. Previously, she was the Managing Director of the Charter Network Accelerator, supporting CEOs, EDs and their leadership teams to scale their charter networks with quality. Prior to this role, she served as the director of communications at Houston Endowment, a private philanthropy supporting education, the arts, environment, health and human services. Earlier in her career, she spent over 17 years at YES Prep Public Schools in various roles including Chief Program Officer and Senior Vice President for People and Program. Under her programmatic leadership, YES Prep achieved one of the strongest track records in the country for talent development and student success at the secondary and post-secondary levels. YES Prep campuses were named as top schools in the country by both U.S. News and World Report and Newsweek, and achieved Exemplary or Recognized status from the State of Texas in every year of operation. In 2010 YES Prep was recognized by Oprah Winfrey as a national model, and in 2012 YES Prep received the inaugural Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology, Hines joined Teach For America and completed four years of teaching. She then earned a Master’s degree from the Harvard University School of Education before joining YES Prep. Hines shares her life with her husband and daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, reading, cooking, dreaming of house renovations, cheering on the Astros and Yankees, and early morning workouts.
