BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Marshall A. Baker is a Senior User Experience Researcher at YouVersion, where he leads human-centered research for one of the world’s most widely used digital platforms for Scripture engagement. He brings a distinctive perspective at the intersection of faith, learning, and design—shaped by more than two decades of leadership in education systems and a deep commitment to amplifying user voice.
Before transitioning into technology, Marshall served as a teacher, principal, professor, and systems strategist. He has worked alongside school districts, nonprofits, and edtech organizations to align vision with execution—centering his work on equitable access, experiential learning, and turning insights into meaningful, measurable impact. His leadership spans initiatives in rural education, postsecondary success, workforce development, and continuous improvement.
Marshall remains actively engaged in the education sector, advising on strategy and design for learning ecosystems that prioritize the wisdom of those closest to the challenge. Whether leading generative research for a digital product or co-creating community-based solutions, he is guided by a core belief: those most impacted by a system should help shape it.
Marshall holds degrees from the University of Florida and earned his PhD from Oklahoma State University. He currently serves on his local school board in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he and his wife are raising their two sons.
