BIOGRAPHY

Mike is the CEO and founder of Stronger Consulting. A 30+ year veteran of the education and non-profit sectors, Mike is an expert in helping organizations design, manage, and improve educational programs for young people. He has extensive experience recruiting, coaching, and supporting senior leaders in schools, school systems, and non-profit organizations to act strategically with and for families and children. Mike has facilitated and overseen strategic and programmatic planning, and coached a variety of non-profit and school-operating organizations, as well as national governance bodies, to reach agreements and take actions that move their organizations forward, advancing their missions in meaningful and strategic ways.

Before founding Stronger Consulting in 2016, Mike was a senior leader at The Broad Center for the Management of School Systems and Community Youth Development Partnerships, as well as the director of Community Youth Development Partnerships at Stanford University’s John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities. He served as a director on the KIPP SoCal Public Schools board, a member of the Education Leaders of Color, and a Pahara Institute Education Fellow, part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. A native of Colorado, Mike has a BA from Colorado College and an MA from the University of Chicago. He lives with his husband, Jake, and their horses in Portland, OR.
