BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Miranda Ming has served as the executive director of Momentum Academy since 2020. Momentum Academy serves PreK-8th grade families in the City of St. Louis. Beginning her collegiate career at Alabama A & M University, but soon returning to the St. Louis area to obtain her bachelors, masters, and doctorate degree from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Due to her stellar performance, she has been featured on billboards and in local commercials discussing how education transforms lives.
As an educator, Miranda focused on student achievement & engagement by averaging 90% proficiency with college preparatory students, and 60% proficiency for traditional students on the Missouri End of Course Exam. Miranda focuses on developing rigorous and engaging instructional practices, while building relationships with stakeholders. She believes that the possibilities for 21st century learners who are working to eliminate barriers are limitless.
Miranda has served in both the education and corporate fields and is the co-owner of KM Educational Design. She works to establish partnerships and collaborations with corporations, higher educational institutions, and community resources to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for underestimated youth. It is Miranda's belief that our youth cannot afford for us to wait.
Miranda has a love of literature and seeks to change the rhetoric regarding youth by serving as a columnist Community News and publishing a number of editorials and articles. Her most recent co-authored book is entitled, The Path Less Traveled: Creating Authentic STEM Pathways by Removing Barriers for Underestimated Youth.
Miranda believes in Rob Waldrop’s words, "My life is immeasurably enriched by taking personal responsibility to do what I can, with what I have, where I am.”
She experiences the most joy with her husband, who is her high school sweet heart, and her beautiful daughter.
