BIOGRAPHY
Dedicated to the core mission of providing quality schools for all students, regardless of income, race, or learning style, Naomi has focused her career on data-informed decision-making by providing families, school leaders, and policy-makers with transparent and actionable school performance information. Naomi is considered a national expert in school choice and school quality. She is currently a partner at The Drexel Fund where she supports the startup and expansion of private schools designed to serve students from low-income households and/or who have learning differences. In this new sector (publicly funded private schools), Naomi is eager to ensure that ALL families have access. Previously, she served as a partner at the National Charter Schools Institute, where she co-founded the A-GAME and Authorizing for ALL initiatives -- equity-focused approaches to measuring school quality. She was the deputy director for the DC Public Charter School Board (DCPCSB) where she led the team responsible for charter accountability and was the deputy director at DC-based Friends of Choice in Urban Schools (FOCUS). She began her career as a classroom teacher and literacy coach at the SEED Public Charter School, two high schools in California, and as a Fulbright Scholar in Germany. She was a founding board member of Education Board Partners and is currently a board member of the Diverse Charter School Coalition and Mississippi Charter School Association and on the advisory board for National Association of Black Micro-school Leaders.
