BIOGRAPHY
R.D. Leyva serves as the Vice President, Program Strategy & Operations at Latinos for Education where he drives quality, efficiency, effectiveness and alignment across multiple fellowships and alumni engagement. He oversees the recruitment and selection process and ensures cross-collaboration between regions for quality control. R.D. served in a few roles during his eight years with Latinos for Education including Chief of Staff and leading national engagement. Previously, he led diversity initiatives at Teach For America and built 32 chapters of The Collective, Teach For America’s Alumni of Color Association. R.D. is a former middle school teacher. He earned his certification at The University of Pennsylvania and holds a B.S. from The University of Texas at Austin. R.D. graduated from the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Leaders Program and is an inaugural Pahara-Aspen NextGen Fellow. He resides in Washington, DC.
