BIOGRAPHY

As Bottom Line's CEO, Steve leads the strategic vision and direction of the organization, driven by a commitment to educational equity and creating opportunities for students whose potential and determination far exceed their access to resources.

Before joining Bottom Line, Steve served as Senior Vice President of Organization-Wide Learning and Strategy at Teach For America (TFA), where he played a pivotal role in transforming TFA into a world-class learning organization. His leadership focused on fostering growth, collaboration, and excellence across the organization.

Prior to TFA, Steve spent 12 years at the College Board, where he guided strategic, analytical, and operational teams for major national programs, including Advanced Placement (AP), SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and BigFuture.org. During his final three years at the College Board, Steve concentrated on managing college access programs and services, developing innovative strategies to enhance college enrollment and completion rates for first-generation and low-income students nationwide.

Steve’s dedication to educational equity extends beyond his professional roles. He currently serves on the boards of America’s Promise Alliance and The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation. Previously, he served as President of the Board of Directors for the National College Attainment Network (NCAN) and was a member of the Counseling and Admission Assembly Council for the College Board. His commitment to advancing student success also led him to serve on the board of St. HOPE Leadership Academy for three years and as a member of Univision Communications’ Educational Advisory Board for two years.

In addition to his leadership roles, Steve has a rich background in education as an adjunct political science instructor for 13 years. His courses covered a broad range of topics, including mass media, political and civil rights, the civil rights movement, race and ethnic relations, and Hispanic culture and community.

Steve’s unwavering dedication to expanding educational access and success continues to inspire and guide his work every day.
