BIOGRAPHY

Terence Johnson currently serves as the CEO of Caliber Public Schools located in the Northern California East Bay.

Prior to joining the Caliber team, Terence served as the Director of Strategic Sources at KIPP Houston Public Schools. He also served as interim Executive Director and Chief of Schools at KIPP Memphis in Memphis, TN where he oversaw eight K-12 schools. Prior to becoming Chief of Schools in Memphis, he served as Senior Director of Leadership Development Programs for the KIPP Foundation. Recognizing the network's need for leadership pipeline development, Terence was instrumental in designing and leading the distinguished Leadership Pathways programs at KIPP from their inception. He led, managed, and oversaw the KIPP Foundation’s Leadership Team, Principal Prep, Miles Family Fellow and Teacher Leader Programs.

Terence has over 35 years experience as a teacher, assistant principal and principal in Colorado, Texas, and Memphis, at elementary, middle and high schools in underserved communities. In addition, Terence is a visiting faculty lecturer at the prestigious UNT, PIC program in Dallas, TX and an executive coach for principals and school executives across the country. Terence received a B.A. from Colorado State University in education, a M.A. from the University of Colorado, and administrative credentials from Denver University.
