BIOGRAPHY

Ana Teresa Dahan is executive director of Thrive LA, a 501c4 organization focused on electing pragmatic leaders committed to ensuring every Angeleno can thrive. In this role, Ana leads the organization’s strategy, civic engagement, coalition building, and communications efforts to expand participation in local elections and strengthen accountable leadership in Los Angeles.

Previously, Ana served as executive vice president at GPSN, where she oversaw organizational strategy, research, communications, and day-to-day operations. She joined the organization to launch its Collective Action initiative, integrating grantmaking, coalition building, and strategic communications to organize public education advocates to advance policy change and implementation at the Los Angeles Unified School District. She also led the organization’s research and polling publications and launched a civic engagement initiative focused on increasing nonpartisan voter turnout in school board elections.

Ana brings decades of experience in public service and civic leadership. She began her career as an aide to a Los Angeles Unified School District board member and was later appointed to several City of Los Angeles commissions, including ethics, commission on the status of women, and redistricting. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Federal Election Commission, NBC Universal legal and government affairs, and AIPAC, developing expertise in law, policy, and political strategy.

Ana earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a law degree from Loyola Law School. She is a proud daughter of former LAUSD teachers, an LAUSD graduate, and a mother of two LAUSD students.
