Antonio Parés is the founder and owner of Walnut Hill Workshop. He advises firms and leaders on strategy development and deployment, organizational and programmatic design, and consults on and leads new business development. Antonio launched his firm in 2020 after establishing the VELA Education Fund for the Walton Family Foundation and Stand Together. Before that, he was a Senior Director at the Donnell-Kay Foundation, advised the Mayor of Denver on education policy and issues, worked on political campaigns in Texas and Colorado, and supported two school turnaround efforts within Denver Public Schools. Antonio started his career as a secondary social studies teacher at IDEA Public Charter Schools in south Texas.
Antonio was a gubernatorial appointee to the Colorado Charter School Institute Board and has served on the boards of several nonprofits, including the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado. In 2018, he was a national fellow with the prestigious Pahara Institute. Antonio was born and raised in Colorado and is a proud third-generation alumnus of the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied political science. Antonio resides in Denver, Colorado, with his wife/better half and their incredible daughter.
