BIOGRAPHY
Charmayne Joseph currently serves as the interim chief of middle schools at Achievement First. She started her education career in 2005 and holds master’s degrees in both curriculum and instruction and special education. Charmayne has spent the last 17 years working across K-12 in a variety of roles and contexts (teacher, school leader, vice president, regional superintendent and founding, fully grown, and turnaround schools). She is a Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY native, a mother of four beautiful children (including a set of 3-year-old fraternal twins), and deeply, deeply loves this work. She believes that her calling has been to return to the communities that favor her own and continue the work of her ancestors in dismantling systemic racism.
