BIOGRAPHY
Jim Blew was the assistant secretary for planning, evaluation, and policy development at the US Department of Education under Secretary Betsy DeVos. Since January 2021, Jim has been consulting with organizations interested in reshaping American education by shifting decision-making power to families, students and teachers. Before the US Department, Jim advocated for education reform through leadership roles with StudentsFirst, 50CAN, and the Alliance for School Choice. From 2005 through 2014, he helped guide the Walton Family Foundation’s investments in K–12 education reform. He holds a BA from Occidental College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
