Aly Murray is the founder and executive director of UPchieve, an edtech nonprofit that provides free, 24/7 online tutoring and college counseling to low-income students across the U.S. Growing up in a low-income, immigrant household and raised by a single mom, Aly experienced firsthand how hard it can be to navigate schoolwork and college applications without access to support. After initially earning an associate's degree, Aly transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Mathematics. She then worked as a trader at J.P. Morgan for two years before leaving to start UPchieve. To date, UPchieve has reached over 100,000 low-income students nationwide. For her work on UPchieve, Aly has been recognized as a Roddenberry Fellow and featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Education. Aly is also a board member of Impact 100 NYC, a collective giving organization of more than 400 New York City women.
