Andrea Castañeda joined Tulsa Public Schools as the chief innovation officer in July 2017. She now serves as the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, a role that focuses on district strategy development and management with a generous side of innovation. She is also serving as the Interim Chief Talent Officer Before joining Tulsa Public Schools, Andrea spent 15 years working in district and state leadership roles in Rhode Island. During that time, she led departments including operations, finance, secondary education, federal program management, career and technical education, English language learner services, charter authorizing, special education, and virtual and blended learning. Andrea has degrees in education from Brown University and Harvard University.
