BIOGRAPHY

Angelica Solis is a mission-driven education and nonprofit executive with nearly two decades of experience advancing equity, systems change, and cross-sector collaboration to expand opportunity for historically underserved communities. She currently serves as Chief of Staff at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, where she partners with executive leadership to drive strategic alignment, governance, organizational alignment, and network-wide initiatives that support scholar achievement and long-term institutional sustainability.

In her role, Angelica leads cross-functional efforts spanning board and school governance, labor relations strategy, leadership team effectiveness, charter renewal, and network-wide strategic initiatives. Her work is centered on strengthening organizational coherence and advancing Alliance’s aspiration that 75% or more of scholars graduate from a four-year college or university.

Prior to joining Alliance, Angelica served as Chief Policy Officer at Education Leaders of Color (EdLoC), where she led national policy and advocacy strategies designed to elevate the leadership, influence, and impact of leaders of color across education and social impact sectors. During her tenure, she built multi-state coalitions, mobilized educator advocacy networks, and helped advance policy solutions addressing structural barriers to educational access, economic mobility, and racial equity.

Angelica has held numerous civic and community leadership roles. She is the Immediate Past President of the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission, where she was first appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti in 2016 and reappointed by Mayor Karen Bass in 2022. In this role, she supported initiatives advancing racial justice, immigrant inclusion, and cross-community dialogue across Los Angeles.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California.

Angelica is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrant parents and resides in Los Angeles with her children, where her professional work is deeply informed by her commitment to expanding opportunity for future generations.
