BIOGRAPHY
Chris Stewart is an award-winning writer, speaker, and digital strategist with a relentless commitment to children and families. He is the CEO of brightbeam, the nonprofit media organization behind Ed Post, a platform that reaches millions with stories and campaigns focused on educational equity and justice.
Chris has led social media and digital advocacy campaigns for education organizations, charter schools, and equity-driven advocates across the country. His work includes producing docuseries, podcasts, and digital content platforms that amplify unheard voices and challenge the status quo in education.
Previously, he served as the founding Director of the African American Leadership Forum, an elected member of the Minneapolis Board of Education, and the founder and CEO of the Wayfinder Foundation. In 2014, he was awarded a Bush Foundation Fellowship in recognition of his work in education and public leadership.
Based in outstate Minnesota, Chris is also a serial parent, a Minecraft enthusiast, and a fearless firestarter on Twitter, where he regularly shakes up both sides of the political aisle under the name Citizen Stewart.
