BIOGRAPHY
Christopher H. Coleman, III is an education and nonprofit leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing student achievement through strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and systems-level improvement. He brings deep expertise in educator development, organizational effectiveness, and cross-sector collaboration in K–12 education.
Christopher currently serves as Executive Director of Teach For America–Memphis, where he oversees a multi-million-dollar budget and leads a high-performing team supporting more than 750 educators and education leaders across the Memphis community. His work focuses on strengthening teacher pipelines, improving school-level outcomes, and partnering with districts, charter networks, and community stakeholders to expand access to high-quality education. His tenure has included securing multimillion-dollar investments and advancing policy and practice aligned to student success.
Previously, Christopher held senior leadership roles including Vice President of Program and Development and Senior Managing Director, where he led educator-focused programming, talent development strategies, and sustainable fundraising efforts. He is known for his data-informed, student-centered approach and his ability to align instructional priorities with operational and financial strategy.
Christopher holds an MBA in finance from the University of Memphis, Fogelman College of Business and Economics, and a masters of education and bachelors of science in mathematics from Southern Arkansas University. He is deeply committed to educational equity, mentorship, and community partnership.
