Cicely is the Chief of Staff of Acelero Learning, an early childhood education organization committed to breaking barriers for children, regardless of income. Cicely serves as an organizational linchpin, balancing urgency with clarity and care. She embodies the organization's dedication to providing Head Start services, sharing innovative practices, and offering training and technical assistance to create transformative outcomes for children, families, and communities.

Before joining Acelero, Cicely had an extensive 17-year tenure at KIPP Texas Public Schools, culminating in her role as Chief of Staff, where she supported executive decision-making, strategic planning, and board governance.

Cicely's journey started as a classroom teacher with Teach For America, evolving into a Kindergarten teacher and early childhood center director. Her passion and mission-centered approach to joyful and academically excellent education for ALL children is the driving force behind her 25 years of experience in the education, non-profit, and for-profit sectors.

A proud Texan with roots in the Southside of Chicago, Cicely holds a bachelor’s degree from Colby College and a master’s in education from the University of Texas El Paso. Beyond her professional achievements, she finds immense pride in her most important role as a mother to Steven Jr. and Summer Free and as a dedicated wife to her husband, Steven.
