BIOGRAPHY
Emmanuel George serves as the Regional Superintendent of Democracy Prep Public Schools. He has served various roles including Assistant Superintendent of Middle Schools, Executive Director of Bronx Prep Middle and HIgh Schools, and Principal of Democracy Prep Endurance High School.
Emmanuel taught elementary, middle, and high school in North Carolina, Long Island, and Harlem for 11 years before entering school leadership as the Founding Principal of Democracy Prep Harlem in July 2010.
Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Hempstead, NY, Emmanuel was educated in the Hempstead Public Schools, graduating from Hempstead High School in June 1995. He majored in elementary education at Livingstone College, a historically black college, located in Salisbury, NC. While at Livingstone, Emmanuel earned the Center For Teaching Excellence Full Academic Scholarship. The Center was a program that geared black men to enter the classroom. Emmanuel graduated from Livingstone in May 1999.
