BIOGRAPHY
Freddy Gonzalez is head of institute at Transcend Education. In this role, he is responsible for spearheading the vision and strategy for a world-class training and development platform that will build the capacity of educators across the country to lead, participate in, and support successful school design journeys.
Prior to this, he spent 17+ years at KIPP as a teacher, principal, and network-wide leader. Most recently, he was the chief academic and talent systems officer at the KIPP Foundation, where he led K-8 Academics and the Network Talent Team with the overall goal of supporting over 120,000 KIPP students across the country. KIPP Austin College Prep earned “recognized” or “exemplary” ratings and earned distinctions in all possible categories for the seven years he was principal. Prior to KIPP, Freddy was the lead counselor with Settlement College Readiness Program in New York City, NY.
Freddy is also on the board of EdFuel and National fellowship for Black and Latino Male Educators. He earned his master’s degree from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education, and his bachelor’s degree from Brown University. Freddy currently lives in Austin, TX.
