Jennifer Lopez is a nationally respected education leader, executive coach, and systems strategist with nearly two decades of experience transforming schools, scaling networks, and advancing equity-centered leadership. She is an educational consultant and former chief executive officer of Carmen Schools of Science and Technology, the largest and highest-performing K–12 charter network in Wisconsin, serving predominantly low-income students. Under her leadership, the network earned national recognition from U.S. News & World Report, was ranked the second highest-performing high school in Wisconsin, was named top-performing in the district, and received multiple “Beating the Odds” awards from the Governor for exceptional outcomes despite high poverty rates.

Jennifer secured philanthropic investments, strengthened governance, and laid the groundwork for a $60 million facilities strategy by identifying and securing land and launching the vision for a state-of-the-art campus designed to serve as a model for innovation and long-term stability. Internally, she standardized systems and practices, led a comprehensive compensation study to address pay equity, and strengthened talent recruitment and retention. She also built cross-sector partnerships that brought on-site medical and behavioral health services to students and families.

Jennifer serves on the boards of Teach For America Milwaukee, Froedtert Health and ThedaCare Hospital, Rocketship Public Schools, and Augustine Preparatory School. She is a fellow of the Bader Leadership Institute through Bader Philanthropies and an alum of the Achievement First Accelerator program. She is committed to strengthening governance and investing in leaders who can sustain high-quality schools over time.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College and master’s degrees from Loyola Marymount University and the University of California, Los Angeles.

Jennifer lives in Milwaukee with her husband, Nic, and their two sons.
