BIOGRAPHY
Kahlmus Eatman is Chief Operating Officer for Pacific Charter School Development, a non-profit, full-service real estate development firm that offers strategic facilities planning, project management, and turnkey development services to help charter school partners secure permanent facilities. Prior to joining PCSD, Kahlmus served as the Senior Director of Operations for Aspire Public Schools’ Memphis Region, assisting in the growth and development of Aspire’s first schools outside of California, helping to grow the region to four schools serving 1,600 students in five years. Kahlmus started his career as a consultant for The Bridgespan Group, where he helped create strategic growth and business plans for a number of charter management organizations, foundations, and other education-based nonprofits.
Kahlmus holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a minor in Religious Studies, graduating magna cum laude, from Duke University. Kahlmus’s undergraduate experience helped develop a strong passion for equity in education, as he noticed the large disparities in opportunities afforded to different populations of students long before they arrived on a college campus. Kahlmus deeply values a commitment to expanding quality public education options to under-resourced communities as a means to help address the systemic and pervasive educational inequalities across the country. Kahlmus also volunteers as head of operations with Greenline Housing Foundation, a community foundation working to reverse the effects of housing discrimination by providing down payment assistance and home ownership education and preparation to qualified people of color.
