Over the course of her career, she has established extensive networks across the country and expanded education opportunities, built coalitions to advance federal policies that improve school choice and workforce readiness, and mobilized resources to strengthen civil society.
Before founding Oak Rose Group, she served as the vice president of programs and senior director of K-12 programs at the Philanthropy Roundtable (Roundtable) from 2016 to 2020 where she helped donors across the country make strategic investments to break down barriers to opportunity and strengthen their communities.

She served for seven years as the chief policy advisor on education, workforce, antipoverty, global health, and other social issues to former Speaker of the House John Boehner. Motivated by the belief that all students deserve access to a great education, Katherine was instrumental in the successful reauthorization of the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program.
