BIOGRAPHY

Lauren is an independent consultant to educational nonprofits and foundations, and is a founding board member of Rivet School. Previously, Lauren was a Partner at NewSchools Venture Fund, where she focused on investment strategy and management assistance to portfolio ventures in the Charter Accelerator Fund. She served as Director of New Site Development for City Year, where she led the initial expansion of the Boston-based urban service corps. Lauren was also the founding Oakland Executive Director of Teach For America, and she began her career as a management consultant with Bain & Company. Her previous board service includes KIPP Bay Area Schools, and Peer Health Exchange. Lauren received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she worked with other student leaders to launch the Public Management Initiative on Social Entrepreneurship. She spent an additional year at Stanford as a Research Associate in the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. Lauren is a member of the 2007 inaugural cohort of the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship.
