Layne Fisher serves as Deputy Superintendent of Operations and Chief Operating Officer at IDEA Public Schools.

Layne brings more than a decade of experience leading school operations across campus, regional, and national levels. He joined IDEA in September 2019 as Vice President of Auxiliary Services, leading transportation and warehousing, health and wellness, and child nutrition. In October 2021, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing campus and regional operations alongside facilities and construction, enrollment, school launch, child nutrition, transportation and warehousing, health and wellness, real estate, communications, and marketing.

In his current expanded role as Deputy Superintendent of Operations, Layne continues to lead campus, regional, and national operations functions while also overseeing information technology, people systems and talent, organizational strategy, and growth. His work centers on building aligned systems, strengthening leadership pipelines, and driving operational excellence to ensure schools are well-supported and students and families receive consistent, high-quality service.

Layne began his career in school operations, serving in campus, regional, and central office leadership roles at Uplift Education before joining IDEA.

Layne holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Tulsa.
