BIOGRAPHY

Lucy Weatherly is a mother, connector, and education leader who believes schools can be transformational spaces for both students and families. Her journey with Intrinsic Schools began as a parent of an Intrinsic Belmont graduate whose experience profoundly shaped her family. After witnessing the confidence, opportunity, and direction her son gained, Lucy joined the staff in 2017 with a clear purpose: to help create that same access and transformation for other families.

Lucy now serves in executive leadership as Chief of Communications and Community Development, where she leads marketing, advocacy, student recruitment, and community engagement for Intrinsic Schools. She works at the intersection of story, access, and equity — shaping how the organization shows up publicly while ensuring families feel seen, informed, and empowered as they navigate educational choice. Her work amplifies student voice, strengthens civic partnerships, and advances policies and practices that expand opportunity for young people in Chicago.

In 2022, Lucy completed the Surge Fellowship, a formative leadership experience that deepened her systems thinking, strengthened her executive presence, and sharpened her commitment to equity-centered leadership. Surge challenged her to lead with both courage and discipline, and she continues to draw on that experience as she navigates complex civic and educational landscapes and advocates for sustainable, high-quality public school options.

Lucy holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northwestern University and is a long-time member of Grace and Peace Church. Whether through leadership, faith, or photography, Lucy is driven by a desire to see people fully — and to help build institutions where they can thrive.
