Dr. Mark Ramirez is the superintendent of schools for the Lake Worth Independent School District, overseeing six campuses and 3,200 students. In this role, Mark governs a total annual budget of $52.9 million and directs all district operations, with a focus on high-quality instructional practices, leadership development, fiscal solvency, and equitable resource distribution. Since joining the district in June 2025, he has architected a comprehensive instructional framework to drive instructional improvement and has seen remarkable increases in student achievement.

Prior to his current role, Mark served as associate superintendent in Dallas ISD. During his tenure, he supervised 43 schools and 32,000 students, facilitating a significant increase in the number of campuses that earned an "A" or "B" state rating on the state's accountability system. Mark’s experience in Dallas ISD also included serving as an executive director, where he consistently delivered measurable growth in student achievement and cultivated community-based accountability. He began his career in education as a bilingual teacher and advanced into campus leadership as an assistant principal and principal.

In 2022, Mark was honored with the Friend of Education Award from Dallas Baptist University. He was also recognized in 2026 by Representative Roger Williams, who had a U.S. flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in his honor for his leadership and commitment to the Lake Worth community. Mark also has the designation of being one of only 18 leaders selected from a competitive national pool to serve as a fellow for The Broad Center’s Fellowship for Public Education Leadership at Yale School of Management.

Mark earned a Doctor of Education from Dallas Baptist University, a Master's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University.
