Dr. Mark Ramirez serves as the Chief of Schools for El Paso ISD, where he leads the educational strategy and operations for 70 campuses and approximately 45,000 students. Mark focuses on implementing high-quality instructional practices, fostering leadership development, maintaining fiscal solvency, and ensuring equitable resource distribution across all neighborhood and specialty schools. He has successfully architected comprehensive instructional frameworks that drive measurable academic growth and elevate student achievement.

Prior to joining El Paso ISD, Mark served as the Superintendent of Schools for the Lake Worth Independent School District, where he governed all district operations, managed a $52.9 million annual budget, and led six campuses serving 3,200 students. His leadership at Lake Worth was built on a foundation of deep central office experience gained in Dallas ISD, where he served as Associate Superintendent. In Dallas, he supervised 43 schools and 32,000 students, facilitating a significant increase in campuses earning an "A" or "B" state accountability rating. Mark’s tenure in Dallas ISD also included serving as an Executive Director, where he consistently delivered measurable growth in student achievement and cultivated community-based accountability.

In 2022, Mark was honored with the Friend of Education Award from Dallas Baptist University. He was also recognized in 2026 by Representative Roger Williams, who had a U.S. flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in his honor for his leadership and commitment to the Lake Worth community. Mark also has the designation of being one of only 18 leaders selected from a competitive national pool to serve as a fellow for The Broad Center’s Fellowship for Public Education Leadership at Yale School of Management in 2024-2025.

Mark earned a Doctor of Education from Dallas Baptist University, a Master's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University.
