BIOGRAPHY

Meredith Liu is the co-founder of The Primary School, a nonprofit organization dedicated to dramatically improving outcomes for children by rethinking how primary education and primary care systems work together. The Primary School was seeded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

The Primary School serves children and families in a new model of care, centered around three core program elements: 1) starting early, 2) integrating across systems to meet the needs of the whole child, and 3) partnering deeply with parents. The Primary School seeks to identify, incubate, and scale solutions that can impact public systems nationally.

Prior to co-founding The Primary School, she was the chief financial officer at Match Education, a charter management organization and teacher training program, and served as a dean and then board member at Codman Academy, a Boston high school co-located with a health center. Meredith also served as the managing director of the School Turnaround Group at Mass Insight Education, partnering with state and local education agencies across the country to support the lowest performing schools. She began her career at Bain & Company.

Meredith earned a BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College and an MBA with distinction at the Harvard Business School. She is also a proud graduate of the D.C. Public Schools.

Meredith is currently an advisor to The Primary School and is writing a book (publishing imprint Jossey-Bass) views on rethinking education system to support the needs of the whole child/family.
