Michael currently serves as the chief of operations at Uncommon Schools, where he manages K-12 school and regional operations across Uncommon’s five regions and 52 schools, serving over 20,000 students. Previously, Michael was the managing director of operations for New York State, an associate chief operating officer for Uncommon NYC, and the director of operations at Brownsville Collegiate Charter School. During his time at Uncommon, he led the organization’s operational response throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and overhauled the strategy and management of student recruitment and enrollment.

Before joining Uncommon in 2014, Michael worked in management consulting with the United Nations World Food Program and the Boston Consulting Group. He started his career as an undergraduate admissions officer at Duke University. Michael holds a BA in history from Duke University and a master's degree in education leadership from the Broad Center.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Michael lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two young children.
