BIOGRAPHY
Michelle is charged with building and executing Equitable Facilities Fund’s credit platform and leading a thorough credit diligence and approval process for each charter school loan. In addition to overseeing the loan closing, loan servicing, loan montioring and portfolio management processes, she plays a pivotal role in organization-wide leadership. Michelle collaborates closely with senior team members to develop strategic initiatives that align with the organization's mission. She is dedicated to building and leading a thriving team, driving growth and impact to ensure the success of Equitable Facilities Fund's objectives. Since inception, under her tenture, the portfolio has grown to over $1.5 billion and has a goal to reach $3 billion by 2028.
With nearly 35 years of professional experience, including 18 years at Nuveen Asset Management, Michelle has an extensive background in internal controls, financial analysis and investment strategy. At Nuveen, she developed and refined their charter school investment methodology, applying it to over 300 charter school organizations to assess their viability and creditworthiness for investment. Her previous roles include serving as an Internal Auditor for the Coca-Cola Company and an External Financial Auditor with Deloitte & Touche.
Michelle is also the founder of EFF's women's affinity group, focused on fostering empowerment and professional development. She holds a BS from Auburn University and an MS from the University of Houston, and is a CPA licensed in Illinois and North Carolina.
