BIOGRAPHY
Mitch Elatkin is the senior director of specialized services for ReGeneration Schools in Chicago and Cincinnati. Mitch oversees special education, section 504, and related services across nine schools. Before joining the ReGeneration Schools team in 2024, Mitch spent 11 years with KIPP Public Schools in various capacities, such as managing director of special populations, program manager of response to intervention, section 504, and dyslexia, along with a regional director of student services, and assistant principal. He also spent numerous years with the Noble Network of Charter Schools as a case manager, 12th-grade team lead, and English language learning coordinator.
Mitch is a graduate of National-Louis University with a post-masters specialist degree in administration and supervision, a master's in teaching and learning from Purdue University Global, and an undergraduate degree in special education as a learning and behavior specialist from Illinois State University in 2005. Mitch is currently working on his doctorate in special education from Illinois State University, with research interests in co-teaching, inclusive mindsets of administrators, and the impact of these mindsets on districts and schools. In his spare time, he actively works out with Peloton and enjoys various types of music. He resides in Chicago with his spouse, dog, and cat.
