BIOGRAPHY

Nithin Iyengar is the Managing Director of the Give Forward Foundation, which supports meaningful and sustained improvement in K-12 education in Bay Area communities. He leads the foundation’s strategy and grantmaking, working with educators, families, and fellow changemakers to ensure every child has access to a high-quality, opportunity-changing education.

Previously, Nithin was a Partner at The Bridgespan Group, where he led the San Francisco office and helped shape the firm’s education practice. He worked with nonprofits, foundations, and government agencies on early childhood, K–12, and place-based strategies. He co-authored publications including “School District Innovation Zones,” “Should Donors Invest in School Districts,” and “Nonprofit Innovation for a Post-Crisis Future.”

Before Bridgespan, Nithin spent seven years in K-12 education, holding leadership roles in the Pittsburg, Oakland, and Philadelphia school districts. He began his career as a high school math teacher and later supported new teachers as an instructional coach.

Nithin serves on the boards of Alder Graduate School of Education, New Teacher Center, and One World Network of Schools. He holds a BA in Computer Science from Harvard University, an MA in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an EdM in Educational Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
