BIOGRAPHY

Pablo Cesar Villavicencio serves as the chief executive officer of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, a nonprofit charter network in Los Angeles that educates 12,500 scholars across 26 schools and has over 23,000 alumni. A first-generation college graduate and proud Los Angeles native, Pablo’s commitment to educational equity is deeply personal, shaped by his experiences growing up in East Los Angeles and attending under-resourced schools.

Since becoming chief executive officer in 2022, Pablo has led Alliance to national recognition. The Center for Research on Education Outcomes at Stanford University named Alliance a "gap-busting" Charter Management Organization, recognizing its success in accelerating learning for historically underserved students. In 2024 U.S. News & World Report rankings, all 17 Alliance high schools were recognized, with 12 ranking in the top 10% nationwide.

Alliance scholars consistently outperform their peers, despite entering three grade levels behind. The network boasts a 95% high school graduation rate, a 96% college acceptance rate, and a college graduation rate nearly four times the national average. Scholars have also shown accelerated growth in English Language Arts and math, with Black scholars achieving the highest year-over-year progress.

Before becoming chief executive officer, Pablo served as president and chief schools officer. He launched the scholars, families, and communities team, developed the School Instructional Support model, and led Alliance’s COVID-19 response.

Previously, Pablo was deputy chief at Oakland Unified School District and director of principal leadership and support in San Francisco Unified School District. He was also the founding principal of a Bronx public school.

Pablo earned his bachelor’s degree in political economy of industrialized societies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master of education in dual language/bilingual general education from Bank Street College of Education.
