Princess serves as the vice president of external affairs at Democracy Prep Public Schools, a national network serving 6,500 students across twenty-one high performing charter schools in New York City; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; San Antonio, Texas; and Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, Princess is responsible for all external matters that support the Democracy Prep network including family engagement, governmental affairs, strategic partnerships, media and communications and development. Prior to rejoining Democracy Prep, Princess was most recently managing director of outreach for Educators of Excellence. Before initiating her career in education, Princess served as a corporate attorney with the law firm of Shipman & Goodwin LLP. Princess also serves as a board member for the Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art and Storytelling. Princess received her bachelor's degree in political science from Spelman College and her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law. Princess resides in Harlem with her husband, Ernie, and daughters Milan and Nina.
