BIOGRAPHY

Rachel has dedicated her career to growing, supporting, and improving organizations and programs addressing the opportunity gap for students in public education. She is an associate partner at Bay Ed Fund, a new place-based fund supporting communities to create a shared vision for their school districts and building the capacity of districts to realize these visions through long-term investments. Rachel, a founding team member, leads internal operations, finance, talent, and strategy.

Prior to joining Bay Ed Fund, Rachel led operations functions for the national team at Rocketship Public Schools, establishing the organization’s first compliance team to manage reporting and regulatory compliance across five states and overseeing student information systems. In her previous role at The Bridgespan Group, Rachel consulted on strategic challenges for nonprofits and foundations. She began her career as a Teach for America corps member, teaching elementary school in Durham, NC. Rachel earned her bachelor’s degree in urban studies from Stanford University and her master's in educational Leadership from the Broad Center.

Her professional experiences, as well as her family’s story, have solidified her belief in the power of communities of changemakers to build the education systems that we all want to be a part of.
