BIOGRAPHY
Rebecca Good is the national vice provost of teacher preparation at Relay Graduate School of Education. At Relay, Rebecca leads the organizational structure for faculty and instructional operations for educator licensure and graduate degree programs. Rebecca was also the founding dean of the Relay Connecticut campus, establishing the state’s first regionally and nationally accredited teacher residency program. In addition, Rebecca serves as vice president of the Redwood Fellowship, a group of influential cross sector leaders working together to strengthen the state of Connecticut through intentional relationship, and network building. Prior to her work in higher education, Rebecca served as a middle school principal at Elm City College Preparatory within the Achievement First network. Prior to her principalship, she served as a dean of students and a founding seventh grade language arts instructor. Rebecca's teaching career began with Teach For America at Miami Central Senior High. Her early teaching was marked by excellence, as she was recognized as teacher of the year in 2006 and rookie teacher of the year in 2004. Rebecca is deeply involved in educational advocacy and policy, serving as the board chair for ConnCAN and a board member for the CT RISE Network. Her commitment extends to an advisory committee membership for The Broad Center at Yale SOM and a role as a member of the CSDE Increasing Educator Diversity Policy Oversight Council. Rebecca earned her doctorate in global executive education from the University of Southern California, where her research on the role of Connecticut legislators in diversifying the teaching workforce, continues to significantly influence statewide legislation. She also holds a master of arts in education leadership from Columbia University and a bachelor of arts in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
