Susan Valverde is the Chief of Operations for Sylvan Learning, an international franchisee organization. She started with Sylvan in 2001 as has been a franchisee in the Rio Grande Valley, where she was responsible for educational programs that served tens of thousands of students, including multiple pilots and grant funded programs targeting the needs of English Language Learners. Valverde joined the corporate team in 2016 and is responsible for helping local teams deliver instruction to millions of students worldwide. Valverde holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and an MBA from the University of Texas Pan American. She was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States at a young age. With a great deal of support, she overcame language barriers and became the first in her family to graduate from college and earn a post-graduate degree. She currently resides in McAllen, TX, with Victor, her husband of 26 years and travels all over the map supporting Sylvan centers.
