BIOGRAPHY

Tara Marlovits serves as the Chief External Officer at Uncommon Schools. She joined Uncommon in 2006 when she co-founded Leadership Prep Bedford-Stuyvesant as Director of Operations and then served as the Chief Operating Officer of Uncommon’s New York City region for nine years. During that time, she was instrumental in growing the region from 10 to 24 schools serving over 8,000 students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Currently, her portfolio includes managing development/fundraising, marketing, enrollment, media and external affairs for Uncommon’s 57 schools serving 21,000 students across six cities in the Northeast. Prior to joining Uncommon, Tara worked in education start-ups including helping to found a high school and a boarding school program for students from low income communities. She holds a B.A. from The College of Holy Cross and an M.A. from Harvard Divinity School.
